Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips
Stipa likes warm weather and moist, well drained soil. It is drought resistant. As the Stipa changes to a beautifully warm golden shade for Fall, the seedheads start to loosen and self-sow its seeds for the next year. Stipa is an annual, but if you do not want a more plentiful stand of Stipa the following year, it is recommended to deadhead the seedlings and re-plant in the Spring.
